RVC Travel

Travel Program Overview

The Rockville Centre Travel Program is built on the development of our players and a rich tradition of competitiveness, teamwork, character, and sportsmanship.

Our competitive program is designed to reward the effort your son or daughter puts into their game through a partnership with Professional Coaching Organizations.

The travel program is limited to players selected through annual try outs from a crop of players who have Rockville Centre Soccer experience.

Our travel teams predominantly play in the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL), New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL), and Elite Development Program (EDP). However, the RVC SC has a rich history of building very competitive and successful teams that have traveled far beyond the borders of Nassau and Suffolk Counties to become State and Regional powerhouses.

Professional Training

All RVC Travel Teams receive professional training throughout their Fall, Spring and Winter Seasons.  The RVC Soccer Club is dedicated to developing young soccer players who embody our soccer philosophy with the help of Professional Training organization. Our soccer philosophy is centered around three key pillars: Style, Discipline, and Identity.

Style:

At the heart of our soccer philosophy is a commitment to playing an attractive, attacking style of soccer. We believe that soccer is an art form, and that every player should be encouraged to express themselves creatively on the field. Our Professional Training programs focus on developing technical skills, tactical awareness, and a love for the game that inspires players to play with passion and joy.

Discipline:

The Club and the Professional Training Organizations we work with all believe that discipline is essential for success in soccer. Our players are taught to work hard, both on and off the field, and to always strive for excellence. We emphasize the importance of team play and good sportsmanship, and encourage our players to be respectful to their opponents, coaches, and teammates. Through disciplined training and hard work, our players develop the mental toughness and resilience needed to succeed in soccer and in life.

Identity:

Finally, we work with our Training Organizations to groupnd the Club's soccer philosophy in a commitment to building a strong team identity. We believe that soccer is a team sport, and that every player has a role to play in creating a winning team. Our players are encouraged to build strong relationships with their teammates, and to support each other both on and off the field. We believe that a strong team identity is the foundation for success in soccer, and that it helps our players develop the leadership skills and confidence needed to succeed in life.

Rising U9 Program

RVC Travel Program starts for the U9 age group.  We encourage all parents to consider the commitment of Travel Soccer and weigh it against other RVC Soccer Club options, such as InterLeage.  We offer resources to help in that comparison.

Given this is the first experience many parents have with Travel Soccer, we’ve included an overview of what to expect from the RVC Travel Soccer Program below:

The RVC Travel program is a high quality and competition program that offers Professional Training 2x per week currently being provided by the Red Bulls Youth Programs Trainers.  These Trainers are also present at most games and take on a significant portion of the training and coaching responsibilities.  Parent coaches are also needed and help with organization, administrative and light coaching duties.  If you are interested in becoming a Parent Coach you can find an application here

The RVC Travel Program participates in the Long Island Junior Soccer League and competes in 8-10 games per season (Fall 2023 & Spring 2024).  In addition to the 2x per week Fall/Spring training sessions, teams will hold 1 weekly team indoor practice in the Winter and typically compete in 2-3 tournaments throughout the year.  Tournaments are at the coaches’ discretion and extra cost may apply.

Players undergo a two-day tryout prior to the season, during which individual performance will be evaluated by the coaches of the Red Bulls Youth Soccer Program alongside input from the Soccer Star Trainers.  The number of teams formed will be based on the Travel Soccer registration numbers.

There is a one-time Tryout Fee of $75.00
Other fees include:

  • RVCSC Registration Fee- $210

  • Red Bull Training Tuition - $1000 (Fall 2022 & Spring 2023) \

Age Group Boys & Girls Travel Programs

Developing for the future!  Rockville Centre Soccer Club is committed to the long term development of all players.  Our partnership with the New York Red Bulls Youth Program and other professional training organizations provide a comprehensive approach to ensuring all players and teams reach their full potential.

What to expect from the Age Group Travel Programs:

Each RVCSC travel program delivers high level instruction for teams 2 times per week along with an additional skills clinic that focuses on ball mastery, tactical awareness and small sided games in a fun, engaging environment.  Professional Trainers will be at all training sessions and most weekend games.  Seasonal Tournaments are coordinated and scheduled by volunteer parent coaches and often cost extra.

Teams compete in Long Island Junior Soccer, New York Club Soccer League, EDP, Super Y League (select teams).

The Travel Program utilizes a variety of tools for scheduling and game management - most important of which is TeamSnap.  It is expected that each parent download the TeamSnap App and respond quickly with your child's availability to allow the coaches and trainers to properly plan and manage attendance and playing time.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the Travel Directors.
